Managing Director, Ursula Keating is a true down to earth business woman. From the land and educated at the University of Queensland, Gatton Agricultural College, she has a wealth of experience in both the public sector and private enterprise. Based in the Surat Basin she is passionate about regional Australia and is enthusiastic in constantly developing solutions to the challenges we face in regional Australia today.

Ursula believes that agriculture and industry can work together for the continued wealth and betterment of the nation without compromising the environment. As the Managing Director of Australian Agricultural and Environmental Solutions (AA&ES) she is dedicated to continued improvement and management of the business. Supported by expert and experienced staff there is no doubt Ursula will lead the company well into the future.

AA&ES Directors

Ursula Keating

Ursula is the founder and Managing Director of AA&ES. She has a Science Degree (Hons) from the University of Qld (Gatton) and spent seven years with the Cwth Dept of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry – Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) where she was integral in the development and management of the Northern Australia Quarantine Strategy (NAQS). In 2012 Ursula was a finalist in the RIRDC Rural Woman of the Year Award for her work in Land Management across the Surat basin. Ursula is also currently the Western Qld Representative on the Executive of the Weed Society of Qld (WSQ).

On a personal note Ursula is passionate about her Australian Stock Horses. She is a keen campdrafter and enjoys her sport. Ursula is also devoted to her family and her community.  She is a very down to earth and approachable person and enjoys keeping in touch with community and business.

Steven Keating

Steven is a Director of AA&ES, Steven has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Additional to his Degree in Applied Science (UQ Gatton), and Social Science Community Development (UQ St Lucia), he also spent eight years with the Dept Natural Resources and Water and Dept of Primary Industries – Biosecurity Quensland as Senior Land Protection Officer. Steven has also completed the AICD Company Directors Course and is a Graduate Fellow of the prestigious Australian Rural Leadership Program (cohort 15 – major scholarship recipient from the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation). Steven has also presented professional papers at both the Queensland Pest Animal Symposium and Queensland Weeds Symposium.

  • Significant regulatory and technical on ground experience in pest management and biosecurity has enabled AA&ES to be leaders in its field.
  • Our well rounded knowledge and field experience in weed surveys, licensed weed control, biosecurity management planning and weed hygiene has demonstrated that our biosecurity planning and technical approach is accurate and second to none.
  • Our professional knowledge is recognised in that AA&ES are a co-provider trainer for Harness Training (RTO), delivering nationally recognised competency units relating to land management.
  • From Biosecurity planning, washdown bay design to nationally accredited training, clients can be assured positive outcomes.
